Experience and Qualifications Highlights
Legal Learning & Development Roles
Decade of experience in Director-level professional development roles at AmLaw 50 firms with global footprints. I've been accountable for the success of learning, coaching and sponsorship/mentoring programs (including budgeting, planning, obtaining leadership support, execution, evaluation, and communication). I've had the pleasure of directly supporting Firm leaders at all levels, and of hiring and overseeing tens of leading legal training and development consultants, around the globe. I have partnered extensively with truly gifted colleagues at two leading university executive education departments. My time as an L&D leader spanned the COVID pandemic and “return to office” period, and the ongoing AI transformation.
Executive Coaching and Mediation Training and Certifications
I am an International Coach Federation (ICF) accredited coach. Since completing my coach training in 2018, I've been coaching professionals of all seniorities on personal, professional and business objectives. Observing that sometimes the blocker to progress is in the space between people, rather than within individuals, in 2026, I trained as a workplace mediator. The mediation modality, which focuses on defining the business problem before two or more people and holding space for them to discuss it with each other, gives me another powerful tool for enabling business objectives despite challenging interpersonal dynamics.
I've used my coaching, mediation and facilitation skills extensively to enable powerful conversations between leaders about complex business and talent development issues.
Legal Know-How Development and Authorship
Five years of experience as a Senior Legal Editor at Practical Law Thomson Reuters authoring, co-authoring, developing and managing legal know-how content. At Practical Law, I learned from the best how to create, organize and deploy know-how content to the time-starved and highly skeptical legal audience. I also learned how to partner with senior practitioners to translate their expertise into resources that can be leveraged by others again and again, preserving their time and attention for more complex and lucrative tasks. Finally, I picked up the skill of communicating the value proposition of investing in legal know-how to various firm constituencies with differing agendas.
Legal Practice
Six years of practice experience as a corporate and securities law at an elite global firm. For four of those years, I was based in my home city of New York. For the other two, I was an expat lawyer based in my firm's London office. My time in legal practice spanned the birth of my two sons, and the global financial crisis, providing me with perspective on navigating both highly personal and global macroeconomic conditions impacting on careers.
Personal Network
I have been happily married to a fellow lawyer for two decades. My husband, a senior lawyer at a global law firm, is a European-trained lawyer who earned a U.S. LL.M and has practiced in three jurisdictions. Between our two social and professional networks, we've followed the career development of thousands of lawyers around the world in every type of career path, from managing partner, to stay-at-home parent, to start-up founder, to law school professor, to yoga teacher. My dual-lawyer couple parents, now in their 70s, and their networks spanning law and accounting firms, private banks, in-house legal departments and more, have also served as a source of information and perspective to me on where our profession has been and where it is heading.
